Default Calgary Stampede Centennial Advertising Campaign

The Calgary Stampede is going in an interesting direction promoting next year's centennial: http://www.calgarysun.com/2011/11/01...ntennial-drive

The Calgary Stampede’s gone Manhattan while recruiting a cable TV black-hat to sell its centennial year.

A promotional video narrated by Jonathan Banks, who plays drug gang enforcer Mike in AMC network’s hit series Breaking Bad has surfaced on the popular humour website funnyordie.com

And a cartoon depicting a rodeo animal’s revenge is featured in the New Yorker magazine.

This seems like a pretty risky advertising campaign and I hope it works well for the Stampede. Although the Stampede is about much more than just rodeo and chuckwagons, most of the advertisements you see typically play up those old western themes.
