Brodie, Russell, Wideman and Engellend all stepped up huge when Gio went down in 2015. Even Schlemko stepped in and played well. Wideman has 15 goals and 56pts in the one year he earned that big salary. Russell stepped in as the emotional leader that Gio was prior to his injury and also had a strong offensive year. Brodie was at the height of his play as was Gio who was a lock for a Norris nomination if he was healthy.
That was a magical team with a horseshoe up their ass all year. They were the opposite of this years Flames who crumbled when faced with adversity
