Han Solo's death was really well done. Unlike most "good guys vs bad guys" movies, this one really had a feeling that it could go either way. I mean, you have Han, after Leia's insistence, begging his son to come with him, and the manipulation by Kylo, who we've established is insecure about the dark side, to go ahead and cold-blooded murder Han like that. Wow. What a villain. At that point I started to think the super weapon would fire, killing Leia and all the resistance, leaving our heroes pretty much on their own for the next movie. It didn't turn out that way, but I was pretty impressed that a mostly fun and lighthearted movie could convince me that it might have a really dark ending like that.
