One of our dogs was attacked this week. The vet bill was $800 and I don't know if we can report it to the cops or what. Put up posters looking for info on the people to recoup the money. But the point is we coughed up the dough because the dog is a member of the family. It's a hardship and it's going to cost us a sacrifice in some other area for sure but hey that dog has been part of our family for a long time.
Could have just put it down as it was hurt bigtime but just couldn't do it. I'd personally hold out right till it becomes a financial burden that can't be borne.
