I think it's tough to justify drafting a guy like Leason over someone like Brink. One guy is comparable to Gawdin (who the Flames signed for free), and the other guy truly has top line potential.
In fact, I'll go one step further. I'll be shocked if Brink doesn't become a top 6 forward. He's not necessarily my top choice - I'm just using him as a counterexample to compare to Leason.
I know the Flames already have small players. But if they want to get value for their pick, they need to pick a high-skill high-ceiling guy. I'm generally against using first round picks to draft probable third-line players. Best case scenario, the value is barely there.
