Go for it. You have to be bold to win, and once you win you then get to focus on maintaining. Staying conservative is not how you win a Cup.

The LA Kings were no more bold than Calgary IMO. They spent picks and prospects to get Carter and Richards, and, later Gaborik, comparable to Calgary acquiring Hamilton, Hamonic and Smith. But those guys were, IMO, significant upgrades.
I'm happy to pursue Hoffman, but not at any price.
