We crossed from the Inner Harbour in Victoria, over to Port Angeles & stayed in Bremerton (worked our way down to family in North Bend). Did a tour of the decommisioned destroyer there & their small naval museum. Our kids enjoyed that. We have a personal connection to Port Gamble so we also went there to wander around - old old town, established 1853, designated historical town, a lot of the buildings/homes date back to the mid-late 1800s; IIRC, the general store was built the same year as the town was established & last time we were there was still in operation (good ice cream there). You can take a ferry over or drive around via the Narrows Bridge - probably a 1.5 hr or so drive but lots of cool places west of Seattle across the Sound, if you want to get out of Seattle proper. Whidbey Island might be fun, tour Fort Casey State Park's underground bunkers (bring flashlights), etc. Drive up to Deception Pass.
