Certainly Hughes is still the likely top pick but would it be unthinkable for Kakko to supplant him? I'll put the odds at 20% but rising.

I have been thinking for a while that NJ takes Kakko #1. They have a history of having some of the best scouting in the game and I think Kakko is not only the best player but a better fit need wise as well. They already have their #1 future C in Hischier and they also have youth in Zacha and Coleman up the middle. On RW all they have is Palmieri. Assuming they can get Hall done long term a first line of Hall/Hischier/Kakko going forward is going to be deadly. Hughes is a perfect fit for the Rangers too. Totally makes the most sense on paper which is why I am probably wrong. I have Kakko to NJ, Hughes to NYR, and Byram to the Hawks as the top 3.
