Are there any notable jersey number choices in Flames history?
The ones that immediately come to mind are Sergei Makarov's #42 (which is just the inverse of his Red Army #24), and Gilmour taking #39 (as #9 was obviously taken).
When Brian Burke was here there was talk about Bennett taking #39, but he eventually did switch from #63 (his training camp assigned number) to #93 which his what he wore in Kingston (because of Gilmour).
Perhaps one of the more infamous is TJ Brodie's #66 (another training camp number), which is funny because of how low key he is, and as evidenced by the fact that he picked #78 this year for no real reason (apparently he wanted to keep a 7 but otherwise didn't really care).
