The Big-10 playoffs started on Friday. MSU faced Michigan in the first game of a best-of-three series. The Wolverines shut out the Spartans, 3-0 (obviously, no points for Nodler or Mattson). This means that MSU must win every game it plays from here out, or their season will be over. Game two goes Saturday.

Denver started its final series of the regular season with a 2-2 tie against Colorado College (Denver won the shootout for NCHC conference standings purposes, but it officially goes into the books as a tie). Pettersen had no points in the game.
