He's in that somewhat obscure tier below Crosby, Malkin, McDingus, Tavares (elites?), in a group with the likes of MacKinnon, Seguin, Kopitar, Matthews, Eichel, Barkov, who don't have a lot of separation between them. He's basically smack dab in the middle of there. He'll have to show some impressive consistency and improve upon other facets of his game to flirt with that elite group in the future.

All those players you listed are better than Monahan. By a pretty decent margin too IMO.
