Liked the finale. Didn't feel as epic somehow as some of the previous episodes... I think that was mostly due to there not being much for a huge plot twist or anything.
The earth scientist's "let's try this", "oh", "ok now try this", and nobody questioning it or countering his ideas seemed a little odd. But I guess options were limited with no contact outside the ring space.
I also quite liked how nobody important died. I kind of presumed a few people would, but keeping the main core of the show alive makes sense moving into next season I think.
The new systems to explore sure opens up options for them for following seasons. I wonder how long before we get alien races showing up. I hope we don't actually (other than maybe an underlying threat of one that could wipe everyone out). I think one of the things the Expanse has going for it is that it's just humans vs. humans in space. Adding in Star Trek esque vaguely humanoid alien species wouldn't really appeal to me.
Regardless, looking forward to next season!
