Ford's performance, while not amazing, is 100x worse in the theatrical cut because of his contractually obligated voiceover that Scott did not want in the film but Fox forced on the production. He literally sounds annoyed and pissed everytime it comes on.

I think it was the Directors Cut because it had the unicorn dream scene.
