I really wonder what it is that Mangiapane is holding out for, as I don't think missing training camp in his position is great at all. Considering what's reasonable for Mangiapane, the 2-way makes the most sense to me - but is that more poisonous than missing camp?
Seeing the roster together, it looks even worse for Eatbreat. Every day a player like DSP, Rinaldo, Quine, Dube, Phillips, Gawdin, Ruzicka and Pospisil earn a little more confidence in the coach they're encroaching on the ice time he saw last year. Other fits start to develop and he not only loses his spot on the roster but any negotiating leverage he thought he had.
Unless he's confident that what he showed in the NHL so far will be difficult to replace, I just don't get it... it's really odd.
