For those who have no idea who this guy was, Dwyer was a senater convicted of taking bribes in some sort of tax scam, he maintained his innocence but yet called a news conference just to kill himself in some sort of sic "I'll show you" statement.

Really sad. Basically by killing himself right before sentencing where he would be stripped of his office, he ensured his family would still get his pension (which would have been revoked upon sentencing).
The guy whose evidence most of the charges against Dwyer were based on admitted in 2010 he lied to get a better deal for himself.
