Also, safeway is better but they use too much sugar, both in the dough and in the topping. Not even much of a personal preference thing. Just overdoing it for some reason, like they never tasted their own product to check.
At least it's fresh.

I like the texture of Safeway doughnuts, but I think they are too sweet to the point it feels like syrup in your mouth. That's kinda gross. Krispy Kreme is in the same vein for this IMO if I have more than one.
Timmies I like that they aren't as sweet, but I agree the texture sucks.
Voodoo and Blue Star in Portland were completely different categories to the above two (and perhaps even to each other), but push comes to shove, felt closer to the Safeway group.
