Flames spent a lot of their time in the defensive zone 5v5 in the last 20 games. So a guy averaging 21 minutes a game spending his time there means little. Getting hemmed in your own zone certainly doesn't suggest that you are getting it done defensively.

He starts in the zone. That means that after the coach saw another pair get hemmed in he tapped Miro to go on the ice. Starting does not mean getting hemmed in the zone.
