It was a huge weekend for Demetrios Koumontzis and ASU. The Sun Devils won both their games, moving to an overall 21-10-1 record, which puts them 8th in the Pairwise, giving them a very strong chance of qualifying for the NCAA tournament. 21 wins also matches the total number of wins that ASU had during its first 3 seasons in the NCAA Division 1.

On Friday, Koumontzis had 1G and 1A in ASU's 4-1 win. On Saturday, he had 1G and 3A in ASU's 5-4 OT win. The 6 point weekend gives him 20 points (4G/16A) in 32 games.

ASU is off next week, and play their final 2 games of the regular season the following weekend, with a visit to Minnesota. Then, they'll wait to see if they've done enough to make the tournament.

Denver went 1-1 during their weekend visit to Minnesota-Duluth. Pettersen had an assist on their lone goal in a 1-0 win Saturday night. He now has 23 points in 27 games.

MSU split their weekend series against Penn State. Mattson didn't play in either game.
