Yup, the owner of that land is going to build an affordable housing project on it. You can see renderings and info here:

I'm hoping that with the new development being just white in colour he plans to have the artists come and do their thing on the final product like he did with the old grocery store.
He also owns some other single family home properties on 2nd avenue and is working through the process of putting laneway homes on them.
