I like Derek Ryan but it appears he is not long for the Flames, not under Geoff Ward anyways.

Ryan was coach Bill Peters jackknife (and 3rd line Centre) but Ward immediately reduced Ryan's minutes and demoted him to the 4th line.

I was hoping Ryan would get the call (because he had the most skill) to play right wing when Tkachuk went down during the playoffs but it was not to be, Rieder instead got the assignment.
