When I watch the hit on slo-mo and I consider the game within the game, I have no problem with what Tkachuk did.
To me, I don't see him throw his elbow.
Doughty sells it hard.
Doughty continues playing and plays 28 minutes, 7 more than any other team on the ice. That's not bad for a guy who acted like he'd been shot when he was the one that wanted to engage in that hit and then turned his head.
Call me a flaming homer. I don't care. I think there is room in the game for crafty plays like that and I think Doughty, who does the same, and embellishes often enough, needs to stop acting like a baby when he gets schooled by a rookie all night.
