IMO, since moving to Calgary we have:
Stanley Cup .... rebuild .... Stanley Cup game 7 loss... rebuild ...today
Future looks pretty bright for us and anything can happen. We're short experience and a couple pieces.

We're not the worst franchise in the NHL, therefore things are ok!
As I said earlier in this thread, an acceptance of being mediocre is too common around this organization at all levels.
Sadly, there's something in Calgary water too.
