Arggggh the rain! Now I have to do this all over again tonight.

On the blackcaps innings: this was always the way we were going to play. It's become quite clear this tournament that the batsmen who were selected are either past their prime or just not skilled enough to score big runs against the top teams, apart from Kane Williamson. The game plan has therefore revolved around defensive play and just surviving and hoping that the bowlers (the true strength of the team) can get it done. It's a far cry from the 2015 team where aggressive batting was a strength.

I'm taking a few positives from this innings though:

-No ducks
-An opener actually stayed in for a whole and scored some runs (Nicholls)
-Williamson steady as ever
-Taylor is on 67* and is probably the best person to have at the crease for the final 5 overs

So, not a world beating innings, and probably not enough to make it tough for India, but our bowlers will go out fighting and they have been what our team lives and dies by.
