Sheriff Arpaio knows damn well that Obama's birth certificate is an outright forgery.....a poorly executed forgery.
For some reason, Obama hides most of his records.
The federal goverment refuses to secure the border and enforce immigration laws, so Arizona and Sheriff Joe are trying to protect their own state.

Obviously Sheriff Joe is not perfect, but the Mexican drug cartels are very active in Arizona, and they are
very dangerous. The U.S.-Mexico border areas have had a higher murder rate than Afghanistan since about '05-'06.
At about the 19 minute mark, Sheriff Joe's cold case investigator goes through some of the problems with the birth certificate, and makes a pretty good case for forgery.
