Vegas seems to be the odds-on favourite to be one hub. Something drastic would have to happen for Vegas to not be one of the hubs at this point.
The other hub will depend on what happens with the Canadian government relaxing the 14-day quarantine requirement for any cross-border travel. If the restrictions are relaxed, the second hub will likely be Toronto, but could also be Vancouver. If the restrictions are not relaxed, the second hub will likely be Los Angeles or Chicago.
Columbus and Pittsburgh are also still possibilities, but only if the cities ahead of them fall out. There is concern that the players might go stir-crazy in those cities due to a lack of amenities. Also, things are more spread out in both of those cities than they would be in the preferred cities.
Fallen out of the running: Minnesota -- riots; Dallas -- COVID spiking in Texas and lack of practice facilities; Edmonton -- No good.
A final decision on the hub cities is expected by the end of the week, or early next week.
