Isn't that already happening?

The way the CBA works also benefits teams taking these players, though... e.g., Gaudreau wasn't eligible for an offer sheet, for example, because of his path to the league, and despite a brief holdout, the Flames ended up getting him on a bargain contract because he had no other alternative. Now Boeser and McAvoy are in that spot (not sure if there are others).
