I’m a little surprised by how progressive Republican voters are and it’s striking how unrepresentative the party is of its voters. The same is true of the Democrats but it’s not as pronounced. You see the legacy of the Trump disinformation machine alive and well in a bunch of these responses. But it’s reasonable to conclude, if you take these results at face value, that most Americans (meaning the ones not shrieking on social media, mostly) see through the political rhetoric and media hype. There’s a lot more common ground than the loopy ends of the spectrum want the middle to believe.
Interesting stuff (for political nerds).
