Wow! Completely the opposite IMO. Mcdavid is seen as a power forward and is but actually also a point guard. He attacks, sells it, draws at least two opposing players then dishes it or kicks it back to set up again.
flames should have Kylington doing the point guard part of that for calgary. Isolate him, cross ice pass to him, he "sells" the drive to the net well enough to draw two players with an assorted set of plays that offer different options to dish or kick it back.
For the power forward part where Mcdavid takes all the way to the net Calgary needs to use "drive the net" players like 4, 8, 44, 81, 19, 20, 88, 11. Those types of "total commitment" comocazi plays where they're not trying to shoot necessarily just physically deliver the puck to the goal area with the sole purpose of activating at least 3 variations of puck support arriving just in time to capitalize on the "pile up" and "greasy" opportunities.
So point gaurd we don't have. Kylington can do that. Power forward we don't got. Caocazi personal delivery is our best counter for that. PG attacks draw defenders, dish and kick. OR Physical players hand-deliver the puck to the crease area so that at least 3 different set plays have puck support from at least two "garbage hounds" arriving at precisely the right time..
