The BOC announcement affects more the variable/ adjustable rates, rather than the fixed rates. It will be interesting to see if BOC raises their key interest rate in May...
However, based on what was happening in the markets late last week, the
5 Year Bond Yield dropped by about 10-15bps. If the bond yield stays at this level, we should see some fixed rate drops.
