Yes, the view is awesome from up there, the Biodome is also very cool. Otherwise Parc d'Olympique sucks something awful (you might want to go just to see how bad it is). You'll wonder how a vibrant and alive city like Montréal can have part of it that is so lifeless and dead.
On the same note of being on the world stage, the Expo grounds primarily La Ronde is pretty sweet. You're also right by the casino if you're over there. I'm not big on casino's, it's bigger than the ones in Sydney and Halifax NS. So, I don't have a great comparison having never been in any other than those three.
