to me Thiem is a bigger, stronger, more consistent Wawrinka, which bodes well for his prospects of multi-slam winner. but I think I'm going to put money on Medvedev ending up with the higher slam count in the end. over a long match I think the percentages tilt his way due to consistency. I don't know if there's been anyone before with as much control over a 6'6" frame. while he might never get to the same level as Djoker for pure defense, he's got more natural firepower.
anyhow I think the days of simply handing events to the Big 3 in advance are officially over. really excited to see what 2021 brings, hopefully the young Canadians can make some leaps and join in on the fun. and if it's going to be a Fed farewell, please one more significant trophy for that Sampras-like fairy tale ending.
