I'm heading there on Friday for the weekend (Saints and Raiders) and business extending into next week. Friends and colleagues have suggested the following:
Have a Hurricane at Pat OBriens (as mentioned, only one!!, is the most common advice)
Soft Shell Crabs at Ralph and Kacoos
Beignets at Caf้ Du Monde
Paddle wheeler cruise on the Mississippi
Carriage Ride through the French Quarter (at night), they depart from Jackson Square on the Decatur Street side
City Bus Tour of the Ninth Ward, Cemeteries, etc.
Ride the Green Tram through the Garden District
Ride the Red Streetcar along Canal Street to City Park (more beignets there!), and of course
Sample some Bourbon at the Bourbon House on Bourbon Street
