That being said, I felt him being so completely open about what he was up to in the simulator didn't really make sense. Holo-addiction (simulator addiction)is nothing new in many different kinds of sci-fi, and then they covered porn addiction in an episode already. I feel the creative team missed a great chance for Gordon to keep it a secret, get in way way deeper, and make his eventual downfall and then the ending very tragic. I feel it would have been an improvement.
Also, the Bortus and Klyden side show is getting old. Either they're violent bigots or imbecilic clowns. Surely some of the other characters can take the comic-relief role once in a while?
It wasn't a bad episode by any means and I did enjoy it, but it was very vanilla.

But it wasn't about holo-addiction. It was about a guy being overjoyed to finally find that relationship he's been looking for and shouting it from the rooftops. Plus he brought up good points on what makes someone alive; Malloy wasn't addicted to the simulator, he was in love with his perception of something, kind of like loving from afar.
