Ya, I'm fine with a big layover if the cost of the flight justifies it, after considering the cost of a hotel, an extra day of travel and any other costs. I did it coming home from Vietnam, with 12 hours in Tokyo, but that was landing at 7am and leaving at 7pm so it worked well enough. Saved $400, as well as having better connections. If it's overnight like that I'm paying for a hotel.
