Museum of Natural History, MOMA, Guggenheim, Statue of Liberty, all close before 6PM. Pretty tight if the flight lands at 2PM.
Best best would be Central Park, Empire State Building (if you can get in). Time's Square probably still has crazy people predicting the end of days, so that might be entertaining...
