update 5.9 came out yesterday, which concludes the KOTFE story line

the major add on was the final flashpoint for the story of Theron's betrayal of the alliance.

Spoiler!

Basically you've been tracking him as a traitor and finally have tracked him and a group of Zildrog worshipers, lead by a former Horizon Guard who wants to release the sleeping god to wipe out the alliance.

It does turn out that Theron was playing double agent and had infiltrated the group without you knowing it. He reunites with you and Lana to stop the god from being woken up.

Unfortunately you arrive too late and the god is woken up and he wipes out your eternal fleet which allows the Sith Empire and Republic to start up their war again, meanwhile your alliance that was standing between the two sides with a huge fleet is left powerless with the fleet and the Gravestone and the Eternal Throne destroyed.


In the end you have a choice of saving Theron and reuniting him with the alliance, or leaving a wounded Theron to die.

But its a good end to a story that was either really liked or really hated with no middle ground.

the next update is number 6 which is supposed to be a full expansion with a whole new storyline.
