From a fan POV it sucks. The major market teams hold a massive advantage that they exploit to ensure they are competitive almost every year.
Yes the league makes money.
But fan interest in many of the have not markets fluctuates based on where the team is in their cycle.
Cycles are natural part of sports, but they are amplified in MLB because of the competitive inequality.
