It’s been a few years since I ran the numbers- but the number of cell towers per capita is about the same between the US and Canada- and I seem to recall the US actually had a few more. So is being a big spread out country isn’t the reason; as we only have cell coverage where there is a lot of population. (And along some major highways.)
