Leading him to a massive contract the coming offseason, that the Oier can’t afford, and he leaves in FA. Or he continues to regress, plays like dog####, and falls into obscurity. I mean, from a Flames perspective both outcomes are pretty good.
There is a secret 3rd option that Oilers management are likely to dumb to do. When the Oilers inevitably fall out of the race, giving up 4 goals a game, they flip Barrie at the deadline for positive assets...
