I use a powered HDMI switch with everything plugged into the TV. Then the optical out on my TV to the sound bar, works like a charm.
I have a cable box, Roku, Blueray player and an old desktop computer wired up this way. I suppose you could have the switch before the soundbar and use the pass through on the
soundbar if you wanted to do it that way.
