Precisely. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding the point to systems like this, a majority of the sound should be coming from the front speakers. Rear speakers are meant to provide immersion or ambiance like car horns in traffic, people chatting in a cafe, the sound of a car approaching from off screen etc...

Of course there are times where the rear speakers are used as loudly as the front. Recently watched the 2nd Jason Bourne movie...at the start when they are being chased by the assassin, they are standing on a bridge and the bad guy takes a shot at them from off screen resulting in a large bang coming from the rear right speaker. Scared the crap out of us but that's the point.

The last Hobbit Film, right as they crew is just about to jump out and join the battle, the big dood blows the horn. As it stops, the sound resonated around all speakers and faded out into the back. Incredible. That's ear porn IMO.
