That's the thing, nobody knows how it works, except for the select few at the very top who designed it this way. I would never want to deal with that level of financial uncertainty, which is why I'll never live in the US. The Canadian system isn't perfect, but it's predictable and fair. The few times I've had to go to the emergency room for myself or my kids I'm very grateful that I never even had to think about money
