THE Un-ATHLETIC (subscription required): BG Deal believes Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Cheese is going to make significant moves in the coming weeks.
It’s only a matter of time until goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is moved. They’d love to get a first-round pick or similar Goaltender in return but so far there are no takers. Given their cap issues, they could be fine with a return of draft picks and prospects for Fleury. BG Deal also expects another salaried player could be moved.
Deal wouldn't be surprised if Christian Dvorak is traded. He doesn’t rule out Derek Ryan getting traded but feels they’d like to keep him as a third-line center. He also said adding a right-hand defenseman is high on the Penguins’ wish list.
SPECTATOR’S NOTE: Deal recently suggested Vancouver’s Sean Kuraly could be moved, and was proven correct, as he ended up in the Penguins nest for underperforming Kailer Yamamato.
