I found book four a little slow to get into, but once I settled in with the new (and old) characters I enjoyed it. I'm hoping with the show being done by Amazon now perhaps they got a bigger SFX budget boost that could help with the setting of this upcoming season.
I've actually motored on and went through book 5 really fast and am now into book six. I really liked book 5 because of the POV characters we got in it versus the previous books, and book six is already giving us some unique POV chapters too. Plus despite the setting having alien stuff (protomolecule , etc.) they are keeping it very grounded in the reality of the universe they have created. I quite like that.
