Flames were bad but one thing I want to say is the narrative that Ottawa should have been some easy push over is a bit false too.
They have been a lot better since they stopped trotting out Hogberg in net as much (he might have been the worst NHL goalie I've ever seen positionally), and Murray has turned his game around abit.
Since Feb 1 they have actually been a little better than the Flames:
Sens: 7-8-0
Flames: 7-8-1
And playing a lot better overall if you look at their advanced metrics in that time (51.1% Corsi For which is 10th in the league in that time frame).
Goaltending still isn't great with an .898 but it's substantially better than January where it was just a disaster at .845 and they went 1-7-1.
