With reduced revenue coming in, are they really going to want to pay Treliving and his replacement?
If you are less worried about the on-ice product to drive gate sales, you could argue that sitting tight is fine as well.
This team has a history of hiring has-beens, or unproven upstarts as GMs. Maybe it's depressing to think about, but Treliving is probably the best GM the team had since Al Coates, who was severely limited in resources.
I would support going with Conroy as interim because he has been around the team, but knowing the Flames, they would go off the board and hire some dude no one has heard of, or some has-been with name recognition. Things could always be worse (Chiarelli anyone)?
