I know it was discussed briefly in this thread but I think it would be such a cool story if the flames ended up drafting Taj Iginla.
There are a lot of reasons why it would probably not be the best thing for the kid to have to follow a legacy like his dad’s on this team. I would totally understand if the team decided not to draft him and he got picked up by another team. It’s probably the smart move for all considered.
However… despite all of that… the fan in me can’t help but hope to see an amazing moment where Jerome steps up to the podium and gets to call his son’s name to come up and put on a flames sweater. Moment’s like that are so rare in any sport (for lots of legit reasons) but it would be such a cool story.
