The Mavericks host the Allen Americans for a two day weekend series at home. Ben Halford gets the start in hopes of changing the result they got a week ago. Since that loss to Tulsa they came back out and won 6-4 the next night then fell in a shootout in Indy on Tuesday night.

The Mavericks take an early penalty but it is killed with relatively little issue. Allen gets more of the zone time throughout the first bit of the period but a lot of their shots miss the net. It actually takes a early penalty kill for the Mavericks to wake up a bit and get back on the attack. They take another 2 penalties in the period but kill them off. They get a power play of their own and a couple chances in front of the net are generated that just a slightly quicker reaction from Jared VanWormer for the redirect could have been goals. The Mavericks play out the rest of the period overpowering Allen in shots 11-6. 6 penalties ended up on the board in the first but neither team capitalizes on them.

Well the 2nd period was quite a productive one. Still quite a few penalties with each side getting 4. The Mavericks get their first of the night curtesy of David Dziurzynski who happens to be playing in his 500th pro hockey game. Rocco Carzo assited that goal as well as the next one that came seconds later from Cliff Watson. Rocco Carzo takes a penalty a little later but out of the box he is set up on a breakaway and buries it! 3 points for the captain this period. But they were not finished. Cliff Watson gets his second goal of the period after Allen takes a 5 on 3. Willie Raskob gets his second assist off of this tally. With about a minute and a half to go in the period, Zach Pochiro of the Americans scores and on the celebration by the bench, Zach Fischer runs into a player and they exchange pleasentries. By pleasentries the Allen player gets a 5 minute spearing call and Fischer gets a game misconduct and a slashing call that Greg Betzold serves for him. It was hard to see with a crowd of players but Fischer got out of it very frustrated and threw his helmet down on the ice. The period ends with 3:48 to go in the Allen penalty and 48 seconds to go in the Mavericks penalty. Shots end 23-14 for the Mavericks.

The 3rd starts off just as fun as the 2nd. Willie Raskob rips one from the blue line that sneaks past the Allen netminder. Rocco Carzo gets his 4th point of the night from an assits on that goal. Another quick goal to follow it comes from David Dziurzynksi's 2nd of the night and the Mavericks take a 6-1 lead. Allen answers back with one that visibly frustrated Halford as he thought there may have been interference. The call stands however. The Mavs still ahead by 4. Not a whole lot of action to finish the game. Allen tries to get some momentum back but it comes too late. Darian Dziurzynski takes a late slashing call with only 22 seconds to go but it doesn't affect the team. The Mavericks win 6-2 and shots end 31-27.
