Barcelona was the first stop on my honeymoon, and I absolutely loved it. The metro is by far the best way to get around the city, it will be worth it to buy monthly passes.
We went to Tartine Café on Avinguda Diagonal for breakfast every morning for coffee / tea and Bocadillo (little sandwiches with cured meats and cheese). I have yet to have anything like it since.
