Hmm wonder why he gave up on serious roles. They realized what their cash cow was, didn't care about how they were viewed in the industry and just made a ton of money.

Adam Sandler is a bit of an outlier as he hasn't made a really good comedy in over a decade but still can sell a movie on name alone as the Grown Ups movies make a lot of money despite not being all that great. He's been smart to move towards animated movies as that's been a cash cow for him as well. How many comedians can boast that staying power especially given how mediocre his films have been a whole? Very few.
